STOCKBRIDGE VILLAGE PRIMARY SCHOOL

Special Valuable People ...Successful, Visionary and Proud

Council Crew

In SVP we believe in a culture of "everyone", therefore from Year 1 to Year 5 all children are involved in our weekly Council Crew meetings. These are led by our amazing Year 6 children and mean that we can ensure we hear the voices and opinions of all the children. This section of the website will provide information about the themes and topics addressed by our weekly Crew meetings.

In this week's crew meetings we had to work together to decide how we could best use the new exercise equipment .

When Crew Leaders brought back their crew's suggestions we collated their responses and these are the final rules  -

  • Stand well back from the machines

  • Queue up to have a turn

  • 5 minutes for each turn then swap

  • Be kind and considerate to others

  • If the machines are covered they can’t be used (e.g. in the rain)

In this week's Crew meetings we had to discuss Fair Trade , ahead of Fair Trade Week . Then we had a decision to make about the cookery classes after half term. We had to decide if we would prefer to make a Fair Trade food like banana bread or a vegetable dish like stir fry. The results from the Crews were as follows -

Fair Trade Focus - 5

Vegetable Stir Fry - 7

So we will be looking forward to making a delicious stir fry after half term !

Knowsley 2030 Project

This week we were engaged in some important research as part of the Knowsley 2030 project. Researcher Aimee Harragan came to brief Year 6 Crew leaders about the agenda and together the crews set about discussing what they would like to see in the Knowsley of the future.
